Driclor

Driclor is a medicine used to treat excessive sweating of the armpits, hands and feet. Sweating is a normal function of the body which helps you to keep cool in hot temperatures, or during exercise, or when you’re feeling stressed or nervous. In some people sweating can be excessive and may need treatment to control it. Driclor is a strong anti-perspirant and contains aluminium chloride to reduce the amount of sweat produced by the sweat glands.

What is excessive sweating?

Although sweating is normal this can become excessive in some people. Sweating becomes excessive when it occurs for no apparent reason, you may not need to cool down but you’re still sweating. Excessive sweating, otherwise known as hyperhidrosis, is also categorised by producing a lot more sweat than what is normal. Under normal, cool conditions a person with hyperhidrosis can sweat a lot to the point where their clothes can be soaked through. Excessive sweating causes a lot of embarrassment and stress for the sufferer.

Why am I excessively sweating?

Excessive sweating can be caused by a number of factors such as medication, health conditions, or there may not be any reason at all and this is known as primary hyperhidrosis. Secondary hyperhidrosis is when excessive sweating is caused by a medical condition, medication, or heat. Medical conditions such as diabetes, menopause, hyperthyroidism, obesity, and pregnancy may cause excessive sweating. If you have secondary hyperhidrosis, finding the underlying problem is one way of treating this side effect.

How does Driclor work to treat excessive sweating?

Driclor treats excessive sweating by blocking the sweat glands. The medicine in Driclor, aluminium chloride, blocks the sweat glands so that they can’t produce as much sweat. Driclor contains a high concentration of aluminium chloride which provides the most effective and long lasting solution by keeping you dryer for longer. When the sweat glands are less active this is when Driclor should be applied so that the glands are blocked when they’re active.

Who is suitable to use Driclor?

Driclor is suitable for those who suffer from extreme heavy sweating. If you’re looking for a simple solution to this problem that works, you’ll most likely be suitable for this treatment. Driclor is suitable for anyone who is affected by excessive sweating.

Is there any reason why I shouldn’t use Driclor?

Driclor is suitable for most people unless you’re allergic to aluminium chloride or any other ingredient in this product. If this is the case you should avoid using Driclor as reactions may be severe. Driclor is also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women to use, however, if you’re breastfeeding you should avoid getting the solution anywhere near your breasts.

Are there any side effects of Driclor?

Like all medicines, Driclor does have side effects, however, not everyone will experience these side effects. When applying Driclor you may experience some stinging, irritation, itching, swelling, pain, a burning sensation, a rash, and redness of the skin at the application site. To reduce your risk of getting these side effects make sure your skin is dry before applying the solution, shave at a different time to application as applying to freshly shaven skin is likely to cause irritation, and do not apply it to sensitive or irritated skin.

How to use Driclor

Driclor is applied in the same way as a roll on deodorant but it is not a deodorant. It has a roll on applicator which you can sweep onto the affected area sparingly. Before applying Driclor ensure that the skin is dried thoroughly. This medicine is best applied at night before bed so that you’re dry throughout the day. You should wash the solution off in the morning and there is no need to reapply it.

Is Driclor effective at treating excessive sweating?

As Driclor contains a high concentration of aluminium chloride it’s one of the most effective treatments for excessive sweating. This treatment provides long lasting dryness and eventually you’ll be using Driclor less and less once your sweat levels have decreased. Driclor is one of the most effective treatments that is so simple to use.
