Eurax

Eurax cream is a medicine used to treat irritated and itchy skin. This may be caused by an allergy, an insect bite or sting, sunburn, heat, eczema, or dermatitis, and Eurax cream is used to relieve the symptoms of all of these. Eurax cream may also be used to treat a skin infection known as scabies which is when tiny mites burrow into the skin and cause severe irritation and itching. Eurax cream contains the active ingredient, crotamiton, which belongs to two classes of drugs known as scabicides and antipruritics. This cream provides immediate relief from itching of the skin. Eurax is available with or without a prescription and is available to buy on Doctor-4-U.

How does it work?

In some cases, emollients may not be enough to treat certain skin conditions, which is when Eurax cream may be a more appropriate treatment. The active ingredient, crotamiton, eases severe itching for 6-10 hours. It works well to treat persistent and severe itching that accompanies severe skin infections such as scabies. To relieve the symptoms of scabies, crotamiton works by killing the scabies mite which causes irritation.

Who is suitable to use Eurax cream?

Eurax cream is suitable for adults and children over the age of 3 years old who are suffering from severe and unbearable itching caused by skin conditions, skin infections, or even sunburn or insect bites. If you have scabies which has been treated with another medicine but you’re still experiencing itching afterward, Eurax cream is a suitable option to relieve this type of itching. If emollients alone have not eased your itching, you may suitable for Eurax cream.

This cream is not known to affect any other medicine but you should always tell your doctor if you’re taking any other medication before starting Eurax to ensure that they do not interact with each other. If you’re using other medicated creams or emollients you should leave at least 30 minutes between applications.

Eurax is not known to have many side effects but if you do experience any negative changes to your health while using Eurax you should stop using it and consult your doctor as soon as possible.
