Femodene ED

Femodene ED is a type of oral contraceptive which can be prescribed to women who are looking to protect themselves from potential pregnancy. Medication like this is commonly known as “The Pill”. Femodene ED is part of a family of medicines known as hormonal contraceptives, which manipulate the body’s hormones to prevent pregnancy from being possible. Femodene ED is known as a combined pill because it has two types of hormones known as oestrogen and progestogen.

Medicines like Femodene ED are popular and trusted by women because they provide a reliable form of reversible protection without interrupting sex. Although Femodene ED can potentially cause side effects (like all hormonal contraceptives can), it has the advantage that it can be stopped immediately if the side effects prove too much.

  • You should take ONE tablet at the same time each day for 21 days, followed by 7 days of not taking any tablets before repeating the cycle. However, if you take a hormonal contraceptive that is designed to be taken every day (also known as an "ED" pill), you should not take a 7 day break after day 21.
  • Always take your tablet at the same time each day
  • If you miss a dose or take your tablet later than you should, read the patient information leaflet or speak to a GP or pharmacist for advice, as you may not be protected against pregnancy.
  • If you experience vomiting or severe diarrhoea, this medication may not work effectively. Because of this, it's recommended that you use condoms or other barrier methods for 7 days after you've experienced illnesses like these.

Buy Femodene ED online

Femodene ED is one of the many types of oral contraceptive which can be prescribed to women in the UK nowadays. More specifically classed as a combined contraceptive Femodene ED tablets contain two hormones. One is an oestrogen hormone and the other is a progestogen hormone which work together to stop you getting pregnant. These hormones are naturally present in the female body, but femodene ED manipulates them in ways which make pregnancy unable to occur even after having sex. As long as you follow the dosage instructions closely, femodene ED is a highly effective form of contraception. Contraceptives like femodene ED are often referred to as simply “the pill”.

Do you need a prescription for Femodene ED?

Yes, you need a prescription from a GMC/EU certified doctor in order to buy Femodene ED online. With Doctor-4-U’s easy consultation process, you can get a prescription for Femodene ED safely and quickly. Fill out the short medical questionnaire provided as part of the consultation and if you are deemed suitable for your prescription, it will usually be dispatched within 24 hours.

What’s the difference between Femodene and Femodene ED?

Chemically, these two medications are almost entirely the same. They each contain 21 days’ worth of active pills with the two hormones in. The only difference is that whereas Femodene has a seven-day break, you are given 7 inactive pills to take as well when prescribed Femodene ED. You may want to take Femodene ED if you think you are likely to forget when you should restart taking the pills (the active ones) after the seven-day break.

How does Femodene ED work?

Femodene ED contains two active ingredients. The first of these is ethinylestradiol, a synthetic version of a naturally occurring oestrogen hormone, and the second is gestodene, a type of progestogen hormone. These work in combination to stop an egg being released into the ovaries and then fertilised. Contraceptives like femodene ED are able to stop eggs needed for pregnancy from being released because they manipulate hormones in a way that tricks the body into assuming an egg has already been released before it would normally happen.

When used properly, femodene ED can provide full protection from pregnancy without needing additional precautions. These tablets, however, do not help protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Therefore, it’s recommended you use a condom for to ensure safer sex, and you should take an STI test every time you have a new sexual partner.

Who is Femodene ED suitable for?

Combined contraceptive pills such as femodene ED are designed for women over the age of puberty and before the age of menopause who want to prevent pregnancy. Even if you fit this description though, your medical history may mean it isn’t safe for you to take this medicine.

You should NOT take femodene ED if any of the following circumstances apply to you:

  • You are allergic to ethinylestradiol, gestodene, or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet
  • You are pregnant
  • You or your family have a history of blood clots
  • You have had angina, a heart attack or a stroke
  • You have had breast cancer, or cancer of the genital organs
  • You have bad migraines
  • You have severe chronic liver disease
  • You have unexplained vaginal bleeding

Femodene ED side effects

Like all medications, Femodene ED may have side effects, but not everyone gets them. Common side effects include:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach aches
  • Weight gain
  • Depressive moods and mood swings
  • Sore or painful breasts
  • Headaches

Taking Femodene ED increases your chance of getting a blood clot by a small amount. But although the increase is only slight, blood clots can be very dangerous so you should respond urgently by seeking immediate medical attention if any symptoms of a clot do emerge. Blood clots are more likely:

  • With increasing age
  • If you smoke
  • If you are overweight
  • If you have high blood pressure
  • If a close relative has had a heart attack or stroke at a young age
  • If you have a high level of fat in your blood
  • If you get migraines
  • If you have a problem with your heart
  • If you have diabetes
