Flarin

Flarin capsules are a medicine used to relieve different types of pain caused by many different conditions, most commonly joint pain. It is a type of painkiller that is designed to protect the stomach from damage as some types of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) can cause stomach issues. Flarin contains ibuprofen and is highly effective at relieving pain and swelling, and reducing stiffness in the joints, whilst also protecting the stomach with its unique lipid formulation.

Flarin gets to work fast and provides targeted and highly effective pain relief. It’s suitable for those who have arthritis, migraines, or nerve pain, and is easier to digest than other ibuprofen capsules and tablets.

How does Flarin work to relieve pain?

Flarin’s key ingredient is ibuprofen which is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). These drugs are a common form of pain relief and they work by reducing hormones that are responsible for the pain and swelling you may be experiencing. Flarin is an anti-inflammatory, it helps to reduce inflammation which in turn reduces pain, stiffness, and discomfort associated with inflammation. For example, inflammation of the joints can damage and weaken the joints and surrounding tissue over time and cause severe pain. Flarin reduces this inflammation to reduce pain and protect the joints. Flarin can also lower a high temperature that can occur with pain and illness.

NSAIDs are known to cause some unpleasant side effects, particularly if you’re taking them for a long period of time or at a high dose. Unlike regular ibuprofen which can cause stomach discomfort and even stomach ulcers, Flarin is designed to protect the stomach while providing the same level of pain relief. The secret to providing this protection is the use of lipids, lipids are often used in the manufacturing of medicines to help absorb the drug into the body, in Flarin, lipids are combined with ibuprofen to create a formula that protects the stomach.

What types of pain does Flarin treat?

Flarin is commonly used for joint pain, particularly inflammation and stiffness of the joints that often occurs in arthritis, this medicine can be used to relieve non-serious arthritis pain. It may also be used to relieve muscular pain, rheumatic pain, back pain, period pain, dental pain, headache, neuralgia, and it may bring down a fever and treat symptoms of colds and flu.

This product may be used by adults and the elderly, as well as children over 12 years old.

Who should not take Flarin capsules?

In some circumstances Flarin may not be the most appropriate treatment, this may be due to a certain health condition or if a person is taking other medicines that may interact with the ingredients in Flarin. You should not take Flarin if any of the following apply to you:

  • You’re taking other NSAIDs
  • You’re taking more than 75mg of aspirin a day
  • You have severe heart, liver, or kidney disease

Flarin side effects

It is possible to experience some side effects when taking Flarin, as is the case with all medicines, however, not everyone will experience these side effects. Stop taking this medicine immediately and seek urgent medical help if you’re passing blood in your stools or black tarry stools, or if you’re vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds. The same applies if you’re having a severe allergic reaction with symptoms such as swelling of the face, tongue, and throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, wheezing, shortness of breath, worsening of asthma, accelerated heart rate, low blood pressure, and shock.

In rare cases, a severe skin reaction may occur with a rash, itching, hives, redness, blistering, and peeling of the skin. Again, if this happens, stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical help.

Other less common and rare side effects that you may experience include:

  • Abdominal pain, feeling sick, and indigestion
  • Headache
  • Diarrhoea, wind, constipation, and vomiting
  • Peptic ulcer, perforation or gastrointestinal haemorrhage, black tarry stools, vomiting blood, inflammation of the mouth, inflammation of the stomach lining, worsening to bowel disease such as Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis
