KN95 Respirator Face Mask (Individually Wrapped)

KN95 respirator masks are an ideal solution for people that come into contact with pathogens, small particles or harmful substances. They’re able to filter out 95% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size, and the fact that they’re disposable means that if they’re used correctly, the risk of contamination is low.

These respirator masks are designed to be used once before being disposed of, and shouldn’t be shared with anyone else or washed, as this can seriously compromise how effective they can be.

You can buy a pack of 10 disposable respirator masks from Doctor4U for £40.99.

Respirator mask UK

Respirator masks are used in many workplaces across the world, as they can help to filter out a majority of small particles. There are many different types of respirator masks, some of which are reuseable. However, these KN95 respirator masks are designed to be used only once, and shouldn’t be washed or reused once it is taken off.

KN95 respirator face masks are able to filter out at least 95% of particles as small as 0.3 microns in size, meaning that it provides protection against a majority of harmful substances that are airborne and larger than 0.3 microns.

Respirator face masks should be kept dry at all times, as moisture within the mask can create an environment where bacteria can thrive, putting you at risk of illness.

Disposable face mask

Disposable face masks are hygienic, and when used correctly, reduce the risk of harmful bacteria building up inside the mask and then being transmitted to your mouth or nose.

These type of kn95 respirator masks should be discarded and disposed of after one use, or if it becomes contaminated with moisture, blood or bodily fluids.

You should also dispose of your respirator mask if you touch the inside of it, as this could mean that the mask has been contaminated, and wearing it any longer could put you at risk of becoming ill.

Sometimes, the moisture from our own breath can cause the inside of the mask to become moist. In this case, you should dispose of the one you’re wearing, and fit a new one as soon as possible.

These KN95 respirator masks are individually wrapped, so if you plan to wear them in public spaces, it may be a good idea to carry a sealed mask with you at all times to make sure that you have a replacement if your current mask becomes contaminated.

How to use a respirator face mask

Whilst applying a respirator face mask might seem simple, it’s important that you follow certain steps to make sure that the mask doesn’t become contaminated, or you may end up needing to dispose of it before you’ve even had to chance to put it on. If you follow the below instructions, and look at guidance from the World Health Organisation, you can ensure that you’re fitting your mask correctly and minimising any chance of contamination:

  • The very first thing you should do before even touching your respirator mask is to wash your hands well and dry them thoroughly. If you are in public or do not have access to clean water and soap, you should use hand sanitiser with an alcohol content of at least 60%. It’s incredibly important to make sure that your hands are completely dry before applying the mask.
  • You should take the respirator mask out of its packaging, taking care to only touch the outside of it.
  • Next, you should open the mask out fully by pinching either side of the outside of the mask and gently pulling it open.
  • Make sure that you secure the outside of the mask in your hand, and place it over your mouth and nose, with the metal strip pointing upwards.
  • Pull the left loop over your left ear, and the right loop over your right ear to secure the mask in place
  • Pinch the metal strip that should sit on your nose to ensure a snug fit

Whilst it’s important to avoid touching the inside of the mask when applying it, it’s equally as important to avoid touching the font of the mask when you remove it.

As well as washing your hands before applying any face mask, it’s also vital to make sure that your hands are cleaned before you remove it as well. It’s generally recommended that you should remove a disposable mask by the ear loops to avoid touching contaminated material. When you’ve removed the mask safely, you should dispose of it in a bin and wash your hands once again to make sure that they’re free from contamination.

Face masks UK

Face masks similar to these in the UK are known as FFP2 masks, according to the EU code. KN95 is the code that China uses for their version of the masks, though these, FFP2 and N95 masks all filter out the same amount of particles and are suitable for use in the UK.

These KN95 respirator face masks are available within the UK and can be shipped to you via whichever delivery method you choose, with next day delivery as an option if you order before 2pm Monday-Friday.

Disposable respirator

Despite the fact that these respirators are disposable, you should still fit them to your face to maximise their effectiveness. Unlike surgical-style masks, these disposable respirators have a metal strip that sits on the bridge of the nose. After you’ve applied the mask, you should pinch this metal strip between your fingers to ensure a snug fit on the nose. This then forms a better seal around your face to make sure that it can filter out most particles and harmful substances.
