Logynon ED

Logynon ED is a prescription medication known as an oral contraceptive, of which there are dozens of variations. Also known as “The Pill”, oral contraceptives belong to the family of contraceptives known as hormonal contraceptives, as they manipulate the body’s hormones to prevent pregnancy. Logynon ED is called a combined pill as it contains both an oestrogen and a progestogen hormone. The Pill is one of the most reliable forms of reversible protection, and doesn’t interrupt sex, making it one of the most popular types of contraception. As it alters your hormones to have its effect, there may be some side effects in the form of mood swings. However, it has the advantage that it can be stopped immediately if the side effects are too much.

If you know Logynon ED is right for you, you can buy it online safely from a UK doctor such as Doctor-4-U by completing our simple medical questionnaire and getting a certified prescription. .

  • You should take ONE tablet at the same time each day for 21 days, followed by 7 days of not taking any tablets before repeating the cycle. However, if you take a hormonal contraceptive that is designed to be taken every day (also known as an "ED" pill), you should not take a 7 day break after day 21.
  • Always take your tablet at the same time each day
  • If you miss a dose or take your tablet later than you should, read the patient information leaflet or speak to a GP or pharmacist for advice, as you may not be protected against pregnancy.
  • If you experience vomiting or severe diarrhoea, this medication may not work effectively. Because of this, it's recommended that you use condoms or other barrier methods for 7 days after you've experienced illnesses like these.

Buy Logynon ED online

Logynon is one of many types of oral contraceptive. It contains two hormones, an oestrogen hormone and a progestogen hormone which work together to stop you getting pregnant. When taken correctly, this is a highly effective form of contraception. Logynon ED is a type of 28 day pill, meaning you take one pill a day for 28 days then start the next pack without a gap.

You need a prescription from a GMC/EU certified doctor in order to buy this medication online. To buy Logynon ED from Doctor-4-U, simply complete our online consultation and if you are deemed suitable, we will dispatch your medication usually within 24 hours. If you are not deemed suitable for Logynon ED, you will receive a full refund.

Do you need a prescription for Logynon ED?

Yes, you need a prescription from a GMC/EU certified doctor in order to buy Logynon ED online. Select the item you want to buy, click “Start Consultation” and fill out the short medical questionnaire provided. What’s the difference between Logynon and Logynon ED?

Chemically, these two medications are almost entirely the same. They each contain 21 days’ worth of active pills with the two hormones in. The only difference is that where Logynon has a seven day break, with Logynon ED you take 7 inactive pills instead. You may want to take Logynon ED if you think you are likely to forget to restart taking the pills after the seven day break.

How does Logynon ED work?

Logynon ED contains two active ingredients. The first of these is ethinylestradiol, a synthetic version of a naturally occurring oestrogen hormone, and the second is levonorgestrel, a type of progestogen hormone. These work in together to stop an egg being released into the ovaries and then fertilised.

There are three types of tablets in your Logynon ED blister pack, light brown, white and ochre. Each of these has a different ratio of the two hormones to match the stage of your cycle. There are also 7 inactive tablets.

As Logynon ED does not help protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), you should also use a condom for to ensure safer sex, and you should take an STI test every time you have a new sexual partner.

Who is Logynon ED suitable for?

Although Logynon ED is designed for women over the age of puberty and before the age of menopause who want to prevent pregnancy, your medical history may mean it isn’t right for you.

You should not take Logynon ED if:

  • You are allergic to ethinylestradiol, levonorgestrel, or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet
  • You are pregnant
  • You or your family have a history of blood clots
  • You have had angina, a heart attack or a stroke
  • You have had breast cancer, or cancer of the genital organs
  • You have bad migraines
  • You have severe chronic liver disease
  • You have unexplained vaginal bleeding

Like all medications, Logynon ED may have side effects, but not everyone gets them. Common side effects include:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Changes to your period
  • Depression and mood swings
  • Painful breasts
  • Headaches

Taking Logynon ED increases your chance of getting a blood clot, which can be very dangerous. Seek medical attention immediately if you think you may have developed a blood clot. Blood clots are more likely:

  • With increasing age
  • If you smoke
  • If you are overweight
  • If you have high blood pressure
  • If a close relative has had a heart attack or stroke at a young age
  • If you have a high level of fat in your blood
  • If you get migraines
  • If you have a problem with your heart
  • If you have diabetes

There is a possible small link between Logynon ED and breast cancer, which you can read about in the patient information leaflet.

Logynon ED is known as a 28-day pill, which means you take one pill per day (6 red, 5 white, 10 ochre, and 7 inactive pills) until the blister pack is finished, then start the next one immediately. When you begin taking Logynon ED, take the first pill on the first day of your period. Make sure you take Logynon ED at a similar time of day each day. The patient information leaflet contains information on what to do if you miss a pill.
