Newton's Antibacterial Hand Gel & Sanitiser

Newton’s Labs Hand Gel and Sanitiser is an ideal solution for when you haven’t got access to running water and soap. It contains 60% alcohol by weight, and over 70% alcohol by volume, meaning that it’s strong enough to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses within seconds.

These hand gels are available in various quantities, and contain 100ml hand sanitiser per bottle, making them the perfect size for carrying around with you in your pocket or handbag.

Doctor4U recommends always keeping hand sanitiser with you for times when you don’t have access to clean water and soap, as hand gel with an alcohol content of over 60% can still kill viruses and keep your hands free from harmful bacteria.

Hand sanitiser gel

Newton’s Labs hand gel and sanitiser is now available to purchase from Doctor4U in various quantities. Hand sanitiser gels are one of the most common and effective products for hand cleansing when water and soap aren’t available, for example, in public places, at festivals, or out walking where sanitation may be a while away.

Newton’s Labs hand sanitising gel is able to kill 99.9% of bacteria in just seconds, ensuring that you say free from harmful microorganisms that may spread diseases or cause illness.

All hand sanitisers gel should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

Alcohol hand sanitiser

This hand sanitiser is alcohol based, and contains a volume of 60% alcohol by weight, or over 70% alcohol by volume. This means that it meets the requirements of alcohol content needed to kill viruses, including COVID-19.

Hand gels and sanitisers that contain less than 60% alcohol won’t be effective in killing viruses, but may still eradicate some bacteria. However, if you’re looking for maximum protection, Newton’s Labs hand gel is ideal, as it contains enough of the vital ingredients to keep you safe when you can’t access soap and running water.

What does hand sanitiser do?

Hand sanitiser works to kill and prevent the spread of bacteria when used correctly on your hands. Whilst it isn’t a replacement for good hand washing hygiene, it’s a good second choice when you don’t have access to soap and water – for example, if you’re out shopping or in public spaces.

Hand sanitiser works best when your hands aren’t visibly dirty or greasy. If they are, you should do your best to find somewhere to wash your hands thoroughly. Otherwise, hand sanitiser should help you to stay free from harmful microorganisms whilst you’re on the go.

Do hand sanitisers kill viruses?

This depends on what the hand sanitiser contains. As long as the alcohol content is over 60%, it should be effective in killing many viruses, including the novel coronavirus. However, you should always check the label to make sure that your hand gel contains enough alcohol, as many people just assume that all hand sanitisers do the same job.

Hand sanitisers kill viruses chemically, whilst hand washing removes virus cells through the action of rubbing your hands, and the lather of the soap which breaks down fatty proteins that surround the virus cell. Both are effective at getting rid of harmful antigens, but it is thought that hand washing is the best option in most cases.

When to use hand gel

You should only really be using hand gel when you don’t have the option to wash your hands. Most people like to use it in public when they’ve touched handrails, baskets or trolleys that other people have come into contact with, whilst others prefer to keep a bottle in their car to use before they touch the steering wheel.

If you don’t have the option to wash your hands, you should use hand sanitising gel whenever you would normally use soap and water. For example:

  • Before eating
  • After you’ve been to the toilet
  • After coughing or sneezing, even if you’ve used a tissue

You may also choose to use hand gel when you’ve touched something in a public place to make sure that your hands are free from any potentially harmful bacteria or microorganisms.

If you’ve just washed your hands, you shouldn’t need to use hand gel unless it’s unavoidable. This is because excessive use of hand sanitiser can strip your hands of their natural oils and leave your skin dry and irritated. If this happens to you because of a sensitivity or the amount of times you cleanse your hands, you may wish to look at buying a moisturiser or emollient to prevent any more pain or discomfort.
